Nirel Tulu Movie Review - a true movie experience in Tulu

Even though I watched three Tulu movies in Dubai, I never took pain of writing a review for those movies. Because Tulu movies were always lacking a true movie experience. Last movie which I liked was "Bangar Patler" directed by Richard Castelino.

Lot of buzz was there for Nirel online and even people expecting lot from first international Tulu movie, so I went to premier show of the movie here in Golden Cinema Dubai. Here is the detailed review of the movie.

What makes a perfect movie? A good story line, good screenplay, crispy dialogues, melodious music, eye catching camera work, crisp editing and top of all that performance by actors. But everything will be under control by  a Director. But what happens when all the star cast and each and everyone worked for movie is newbies? There are lot of movies which was disaster even though it was directed by experienced top notch directors. So I had least expectation for the movie "Nirel" when I entered the theater because of standard set by other Tulu Movies. But within 15 minutes of starting of the movie I had to remind myself many times I am watching a Tulu Movie. Yes "Nirel" is beyond our expectations for a Tulu movie.

All credits goes to Director Ranjith Bajpe who extracted performance from each and everyone in the movie and also the producers for the risk they took on whole new team. "Nirel" is amazingly fresh , a visually treat, melodramatic entertainer with some great songs and performances. 

The scene is laid in Dubai, when popular Kannada actor Sachin (played by Anoop Sagar) arrives to Dubai to meet Shwetha (Deepthi Salian). And they accidentally meet Rashmi (Varuna Shetty) who starts blame Sachin for something which started revealing in flashback stories. In flashback its shown Sachin is struggling actor who tries to enter in to movie field. Dads anger, Moms love and friends support makes movie a family movie which turns in to comedy jolly ride when Sachins friend Deepak (Deepak Paladka) tries to help Sachin to produce a movie which is directed by a director from India. Sachin meets Rashmi in a Gym and he falls for her. Rashmi is a bank employee who helps to get loan for movie. But everything turns up and down when the director cheats Sachin, but still he travel to Bangalore along with Rashmi for an audition and he select for movie as hero. Hotel room which they stayed turns into romantic location and both express thier love interest to each other and when Sachin gets up next day Rashmi was missing at room. Now question remains at the mind of audience why Rashmi left even though she helped Sachin and who is Shwetha?? Second half gives answer to each and every question. 

Story and Screen play by Karthik Gowda is good, but dialogues and richness takes movie to next level. Movie shot in beautiful locations of Dubai, so its feast for eyes to watch the movie. What makes the ride as enjoyable as it is, and what truly give focus to Ranjith Bajpe's, strict direction, are the performances of Anoop Sagar, Varuna Shetty, Deepthi Salian, Deepak Paladka and other supporting actors and songs by Abhishek SN.

Music:

Another key point of the movie is music. All songs are super hit already. Music Director Abhishek SN gave wonderful music to Tulu film Industry. It was amazing experience when people clapped for Serunaga Song. Lyrics by Loku Kudla and Rajneesh Amin was good.

Performance:
Lead actor Anoop, Varuna and Deepthi did justice to their roles. While Deepthi excells at climax scenes, Deepak Paladka steals the show at first half. Each and every actors of the movie emerges as new find for movie industry.

Dialogues:

Dialogues of the movie is another point to be focused, be it sentiments, comedy or Romance, Ranjith excelled in each. Comedy dialogues made people laugh while face off between Rashmi and Shwetha at Tulu Parba event scene is top notch. Logical way of bringing up issue is uniqueness found in dialogues. 

Editing was crispy in second half and first half gives detailed establishment of the scenes which was not needed for movie. Camera work by Mani Kookal is also worth mentioned. Dane song pictured well and Serunaga too was good. 

Negatives: When u watch "Nirel" as a tulu movie, you will find this movie as more than what you expected. There were few flaws at first half, specially performance at few places and also some scenes can be trimmed to make it more enjoyable.

Overall a good movie which rises bar of Tulu movie standards. Must watch movie for each and every Tulu speaking audience.
